QUESTIONS

Academic program growth

  • Over the next 10-15 years, where do you see the greatest areas of growth within Central Oregon's hospitality industry? Are there particular areas within the industry that should be a focus of the new academic program?

  • A large percentage of retiring teachers and changing demographics are creating a need for additional teachers in Central Oregon and beyond. What does a well-trained teacher in the 21st century need to be successful?

  • The field of Sustainability is growing to encompass areas beyond our natural resources, and now has relevance in economics, business, and other areas. Where do you see most pressing needs in Sustainability in Central Oregon?

  • Given that engineering is a field with many disciplines, what do you see as Central Oregon’s most pressing growth challenges that can be solved through engineering solutions? What kinds of skills will Central Oregon’s workforce need to attain to meet the engineering-related growth opportunities of the next decade?

Enrollment growth

  • Do you see OSU-Cascades Campus primarily serving the higher education needs of Central Oregon, or do you see it eventually becoming a "destination" college for students from outside the region?

Fiscal stability

  • Sustaining or increasing Legislative funding, especially in challenging economic times, requires strong citizen support. What information about the Campus' budget and financial status would help you inform your friends and neighbors about Cascades' requirements?

Encourage a vision

  • In what ways can the OSU-Cascades Campus increase awareness of its students, faculty and programs among Central Oregonians?

  • What are the non-traditional educational and cultural programs that you would like to see OSU-Cascades Campus offer the community in the coming years?
