Students interested in pursuing the MAT should first read through the MAT admissions information for specific entrance requirements and prerequisite classes.

Next, send your completed Form B (see below) and transcripts to Dr. Kathleen Cowin. She will review them and contact you.

Early Childhood/Elementary Authorization Level Candidates

Early Childhood (Age 3 - Grade 4) / Elementary (Grade 3 - 8)

Prospective graduate students for the Elementary/Early Childhood authorization will note that within the application packet, you are asked to fill out something called the Form B. This form gauges a student's competency in the skills needed to become successful elementary school teachers, in such areas as mathematics, science, language arts, and music. Current undergraduate students who plan to continue into the OSU-Cascades MAT program, regardless of their major or institution, should use the Form B as an additional reference to plan their undergraduate studies.

Current undergraduates at OSU-Cascades (or those in the Central Oregon area needing to pick up additional coursework) may wish to read through a list of Suggested Central Oregon Community College (COCC) and OSU-Cascades classes which meet Form B Competency Areas.
