Candace Brey has been a practitioner in the field of early childhood development and education for more than 35 years in a variety of positions which include early childhood teacher and center director, elementary teacher, early intervention program coordinator, parent educator, teacher trainer, community college faculty, and advocate for young children and families. She is currently an instructor in the Human Development and Family Sciences program at OSU-Cascades.Candace is a trained facilitator for Courage to Teach/Courage to Lead, a program for the personal and professional renewal of educators and educational leaders.
Research Interests
I am especially interested in exploring effective ways to support children and families who are experiencing grief and loss as well as the development of empathy and compassion in children.
