Advising Structure
Our Mission: To assist students in the development of an educational plan for the realization of life and career goals.
OSU-Cascades believes that academic advising is a key ingredient in helping students attain their educational goals. We encourage all students to form a strong partnership with their academic advisor and to become active participants in their own advisement process. Not only can your advisor help you understand rather complex degree requirements and schedule planning, but he or she is a valuable source of information about your career field, job or internship opportunities, study abroad programs, and other majors or minors that may enhance your skills.
Who is my Academic Advisor
OSU-Cascades uses an effective and efficient advising structure that consists of professional advisors working together to meet the unique needs of our students. Students will use Program Advising Guides to work with their advisors to ensure progression towards a degree. Visit your Academic Program's website for faculty and program information.
Students who wish to meet with their Academic Advisor should make an appointment to ensure the advisors have time to review your progress before the appointments and with the student. Drop-in advising is also available for students who have quick or followup questions.
Check with the OSU-Cascades Enrollment Services to see who your Academic Advisor is:
Enrollment Services: 541-322-3100 or CSB 223
UO students at OSU-Cascades are assigned to Diane Pritchard, the UO professional advisor for all UO major and minors.
Undecided Students
If students are undecided, they will be assigned to either Dianna Raschio, or Kara Branyon OSU-Cascades Academic Advisor, until the time that a major area is chosen. Check out the Exploratory Student website for information on how to explore.
By working in partnership with OSU-Cascades Career Services and their advisor, undecided students will explore personal interests, goals, and values, with the goal of selecting a major that incorporates all of these important elements. A list of exploratory classes in OSU-Cascades majors is available to students who are undecided and desire to "test out" different areas.
Take Responsibility of your Degree
As a student it is important to be aware of university policies and procedures. Take time to research these throughout your time at OSU-Cascades. Make sure you fully understand what is required of you to graduate. See the advising guides below and on your departments website for important information.
See this link for more information on the Advisor/Advisee relationship and how to maximize your experience with OSU-Cascades Advising.
Students should contact your Academic Advisor with any concerns or questions regarding academic success, academic policy, or graduation requirements.
