Tuition & Payment Information
Tuition and Fees for Partner Institutions
Tuition and fees for partner institutions are explained below and specific fees are included in the class listing. Additional questions may be addressed directly to the OSU-Cascades Enrollment Services Office, Cascades Hall, on the COCC campus.
If you are registered with more than one institution, your tuition and fees could total as follows, based on OSU-Cascades resident tuition and fees:
|OSU-Cascades On-site course||3 cr||$653.00|
|OSU Distance course||3 cr||$780.00|
|COCC course||3 cr||$266.00|
- Tuition and fee amounts are estimates and subject to change.
- OSU on-site classes are added together in assessing tuition and fees. The tuition plateau is calculated and reached using OSU on-site courses only.
- Be aware that you might receive more than one tuition and fee bill, depending on the type of courses you register for.

Study Resource Fees
Study resource fees will be assessed to students in specific programs.
For non-degree seeking students enrolled in less than 9 credits, tuition and fees are assessed at resident rates based on undergraduate or graduate course level. Enrollment in excess of 8 credits requires tuition and fees to be assessed at the same rates applied to admitted students. You are referred to the above fee payment schedule. Nonresident differential and student level (undergraduate or graduate) will be applicable. Questions are referred to the Office of Business Affairs.
OSU Distance Education Course Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees for distance courses are listed in the class listing for each course. These rates are separate from the tuition and fees for all other courses. For most distance courses, the tuition and fees are:
Refund rates for distance courses are governed by the same refund schedule for non-distance courses.
New students will be charged a one-time only fee of $300.00 for undergraduates and $305.00 for graduates at the start of their first term to cover the cost of pre-enrollment services. These services include, but are not limited to, campus open houses, new-student orientation programs, and special advising services for transfer and extension students.
Auditor's Fee is the same as regular fees in all classes.
Registration Cancellation and University Withdrawal
When you complete Web registration you are officially registered with the university. At that time, you are obligated to pay all tuition/fees. If you wish to cancel this obligation, you must officially cancel your registration or withdraw from the university. (See Tuition/Fee Reduction and Refund Schedule)
The OSU-Cascades statement is e-mailed monthly. All fees (tuition, room, board, etc.) are due in full on the first day of each term. Students are sent a bill each month around the 5th detailing all charges, credits, and payments on their account. Tuition assessments will occur bi-weekly prior to the start of the term. Beginning the first day of the term, tuition assessments will occur daily.
Unpaid balances as of the first of the month are considered past due, and will be assessed interest at the rate of 1% per month (12% APR). View your account balance from the Student Online Services account information section.
Requests for transcripts cannot be processed until your account balance is paid in full.
Methods of Payment
OSU-Cascades accepts payment in checks, cash or credit cards. Mail a check in with your monthly statement or pay with your check routing number online at mybill.oregonstate.edu
How to Handle an Error in Billing
If there appears to be an error on your monthly statement, you may inquire directly with the Office of Business Affairs, OSU-Corvallis at (541) 737-3775, or contact the OSU-Cascades Enrollment Services Office in Cascades Hall at COCC, (541) 322-3100.
Tuition and Course Fee Refunds
Refunds are based on assessed tuition and mandatory fees, and are calculated from the date you officially withdraw or cancel your registration or reduce your class load, not the last date of class attendance. Please see Registration Cancellation and University Withdrawal procedures outlined earlier.
Refunds are automatically processed as a credit on your account. A check will be issued to you for any remaining credit balance after accounts receivable and financial aid repayments have been satisfied. Allow about two weeks for processing a refund.
Students who drop or withdraw from a class or withdraw from the university may be eligible for a refund of tuition and mandatory fees according to the Registration Handbook.
The Registration Handbook outlines those policies as established by the Oregon University System (formerly Oregon State System of Higher Education). No refunds are authorized for persons paying Staff rates.
Financial Aid and Scholarship Payment on Account
Scholarships, Student Loans, and Grants
Approved scholarship, student loans, and grant awards will automatically be posted to registered students' receivable accounts. Students registering later will have their aid applied the day following registration. When the applied aid creates a credit balance in excess of $1.00, a refund check will be generated and mailed to you.
To receive financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and be admitted to an OSU-Cascades partner institution (referred to as your home institution). Although you may be attending classes taught by more than one institution, you can receive financial aid only from your home institution. For financial aid purposes, only credits through OSU and COCC will be combined and counted towards your financial aid enrollment and disbursement. Credit through the other OSU-Cascades partner institutions will not be combined for financial aid disbursements.
Emergency loans, not to exceed a total of $350.00 per term, are available to students in good financial standing, attending at least half time, and formally admitted to and seeking a degree from OSU. (Other students should contact their home institutions for loan information.) Loan amounts become part of the revolving account balance, and carry interest at 1 percent per month (12 percent APR). You may inquire about emergency loans at the OSU-Cascades Enrollment Services Office in Cascades Hall, (541) 322-3100.
Students may subscribe for optional services such as Beaver Year Book, at the OSU-Corvallis departments providing these services. Billing for optional services is processed by the Business Affairs Office.
Online courses may require tests to be proctored. OSU-Cascades offers free test proctoring for students taking an OSU E-Campus distance course on Fridays from 11am to 1pm.
1.) Contact Alisa Humphrey to schedule proctoring 3 to 5 business days in advance
2.) Notify E-Campus that you will be taking a test
3.) Complete E-Campus Proctor Request Form
Proctoring Contact: Alisa Humphrey - email@example.com
If Fridays are inconvenient, the COCC Testing and Tutoring Center is available for a fee. Contact: 541.383.7536 to set up proctoring day/time.

Proctoring for Students with disabilities:
Students with documented disabilities may be eligible for special testing situations. Faculty should receive notification of a specific accommodation by either Anne Walker, who coordinates services for students with disabilities at COCC or Tracy Bentley-Townlin (or a staff member) who coordinates these services for students at OSU.
When the accommodation involves special testing, faculty should send an email to Alisa Humphrey describing the accommodation prescribed for the student. Please let Alisa know if the student must take the exam at the same time the class is taking it. If this is not required, the student should schedule with Alisa ONE WEEK in advance of the test.
Proctoring for Special Situations:
There are times when students request testing accommodations for special circumstances or conflicts with an exam period. It is up to the faculty member to decide whether or not to re-schedule the test, but it is expected that the faculty will accommodate these situations in his/her office and be present to proctor. The only other time available to students in this situation is the 11 am to 1 pm Friday time period and this can be scheduled only with approval from the faculty teaching the course.
Additionally, it is possible to use the COCC Testing Center. Kellie Smith is the contact at 541-383-7536 or KSmith@cocc.edu. There is a charge per exam. Kellie does not accept tests through email.
