Cascades Adventures mission is to offer outdoor and adventurous challenges in a positive and sharing community.

Cascades Adventures is a program designed for the entire OSU Cascades and COCC community. Our intention is to provide students, faculty and staff from the campus community with an opportunity to participate in outdoor activities, outings, programs and workshops. Come join us and meet new folks, try new activities, learn some new outdoor skills and have fun! Cascades Adventures aims at providing enriching experiences for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts.

What has been happening!

Cascades Adventures has had a busy September with a variety of trips going out before the start of classes. Labor Day week was spent hosting the Oregon University Systems International program for a few nights of Canoeing , Hiking and Group games. The week prior to classes saw the 5th annual Headwaters Wilderness Orientation go out, making for another successful paddle of the upper Deschutes watershed. At the same time student leaders from COCC & OSU Cascades were also treated to an afternoon of whitewater rafting as part of a week long leadership retreat put on by our partnering institutions. As per tradition the first trip of the quarter was the 7th Annual South Sister Summit Salmon Celebration that occurred this last weekend and for the first time in over two years, students persevered through the inclement weather to make it atop the 4th highest peak in Oregon. The first week of COCC classes also saw the first Fall Quarter meeting of the minds, where students lined up outings for every weekend until the Winter break.
