ESOL In-service Courses
ESOL Endorsement
Exciting news!
OSU-Cascades now offers the ESOL endorsement. This program is open to Oregon licensed teachers.
To obtain an ESOL endorsement you must complete:
- The five courses listed below,
- A teaching practicum (TCE 510) with Work Sample,
- The ORELA ESOL Exam
Internship slots are limited. If you are interested in applying for this program please review the following list of required course work and contact Carolyn Platt (Secondary) or Jessie Buhrle (Elementary).
Courses Required for ESOL Endorsement:
TCE 522 Racial and Cultural Harmony in the Classroom (3)
or TCE 219/419(offered at varying times at OSU-Cascades)/519 Multicultural Issues in Education (2)
or AHE 521 Cross-Cultural Communication (3)
TCE 572 (3) Theoretical Foundations of Language Acquisition for P-12 Educators
TCE 573 (3) Instructional Approaches for P-12 English Language Learners (Prereq TCE 572)
TCE 576 (3) Language Policy and Issues in Bilingual/ELL Education
TCE 599 (3) Linguistics for ELL/Bilingual Teachers
After completion of the above courses you will be eligible to take TCE 510 Internship.
