Headwaters Wilderness Orientation Program

Begin your Cascades experience with a wilderness adventure alongside new and returning students. Select from one of the trips and enjoy a positive and growing experience. Meet other students and share in this adventure before you embark upon the school path. Headwaters has open enrollment for all Cascades students beginning classes Winter quarter 2012 through Fall quarter 2012.

Adventures to Choose from:

Canoeing

A 5 Day Canoe trip exploring the Upper Deschutes watershed.

September 17th-21st, 2012

Beginning close to the true source, this trip explores the upper stretches of the Deschutes River. Come and enjoy Osprey and Great Blue Heron along the wild and scenic Upper Deschutes. Led by two qualified Cascades Adventures canoe trip leaders, this is an opportunity to spend 5 days paddling and 4 nights camping as you travel from Wickiup Reservoir to Benham Falls.

Backpacking

A 3 day backpacking trip exploring the Three Sisters Wilderness

September 19th-21st, 2012

The majestic beauty of the Three Sisters mountains call to Central Oregonians, this trip explores that beauty on foot. Come and enjoy the volcanic history the Three Sisters have to offer.Led by two qualified Cascades Adventures backpacking trip leaders, this is an opportunity for students to spend 3 days hiking and 2 nights camping in the solitude of the Sisters wilderness.

Multi-Activity

A 1 Day Multi-Activity trip around Central Oregon.

September 21st, 2012

A 1 day outdoor adventure trip around the Central Oregon region, including whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and rock climbing. A great chance to experience outdoor recreational activities for the first time or again in the beauty of Central Oregon.
