“It’s in the Bag” Lecture Looks at Qualities of Strong Families

Oregon State University - Cascades Campus' annual "It's in the Bag" lecture series continues on Wednesday, February 3 with a presentation titled "Six Qualities of Strong Families." The lunchtime lecture will be given by Dennis Lynn, Ph.D. of OSU-Cascades’ human development and family sciences program.

Lynn joined the faculty of OSU-Cascades in August 2009. He has been a student of the family for many years and in this presentation will address how to create a strong and vibrant family – a goal that many families aspire to, but often lack the knowledge and resources to truly achieve.  Lynn will identify the six basic characteristics identified with strong and resilient families, and by examining each, identify ways you can develop these qualities within your own family.  Lynn holds an M. Ed. in counseling from Texas Tech University and a Ph.D. in human
development and the family from the University of Nebraska. Lynn has worked with national
research projects studying family strengths. While in Nebraska, he hosted a daily radio segment called "Take a Minute for the Family." Throughout his professional career, Lynn has balanced teaching and administrative responsibilities. He served for 10 years as president of a small college in Portland, Oregon. Immediately before assuming his role at OSU-Cascades, Lynn served as the development director with HIV Alliance in Eugene.

"It's in the Bag" lectures are free and no reservation is needed. Complimentary beverages will be available. Audience members are asked to pick-up a free parking pass from the main office before parking. For more information contact info@osucascades.edu or 541-322-3100.
