12/29/10 - Central Oregon Community College has announced that parking and walking on campus will be impacted by construction of COCC's new Health Careers building effective immediately. The new building will be located between Newberry Hall and Loop Road. Construction began in late December and will continue for the next 18 months.  Walking paths on the south side of Pioneer to College Way are now closed. Also, the front (west) row of parking in the Newberry Hall parking lot is closed.  Please note the following:

• There is a new set of stairs between the parking lot near Metolius Hall and College Way, directly across from the Campus Center.
• There are 148 new parking spots in the lot north of the Barber Library, directly across from Cascades Hall. The sidewalk along College Way in front of the construction area will remain open.
• Please do NOT walk down Loop Road between Pioneer and Metolius as there are no sidewalks and it is steep and often slippery.

COCC apologized for the inconvenience and said, "the end result – a new building for our Health Careers programs – will make these sacrifices well worth it for future COCC students."  If you have any questions or comments, please direct them to feedback@cocc.edu.
