Faculty, Staff and Students Remember Westlund
OSU-Cascades staff, faculty and students are remembering the life and career of Oregon's State Treasurer Ben Westlund. The former state senator from Bend died of cancer Sunday, March 7 at age 60. Westlund was most known on campus for his efforts in pushing through the legislation that ultimately created OSU-Cascades in 2001. Said Vice President Becky Johnson, "Ben Westlund was a great advocate for higher education, supporting both the creation of OSU-Cascades and Oregon's college savings plan. He will certainly be missed." The OSU-Cascades community extends its sympathies to the Westlund family.
