OSU-Cascades exercise and sport science professor recognized by OnPoint

pollard - christineAn exercise and sport science professor at Oregon State University - Cascades is among six outstanding OSU faculty members recognized by OnPoint Community Credit Union during the fall 2013 Beaver football season.  Faculty members were selected for having excelled in teaching, research, and leadership. Christine Pollard was recognized at the Beaver vs. Stanford game on October 26.

Pollard leads the exercise and sport science program at OSU-Cascades. Now in its third year, the program is one of the fastest growing at the branch campus. Pollard is the director of the Functional Orthopedic Research Center of Excellence, or FORCE Lab, a partnership between OSU-Cascsades, Therapeutic Associates-Bend Physical Therapy, The Center Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care & Research, and The Center Foundation. The FORCE Lab optimizes individuals' musculoskeletal function and performance, prevents injury, and promotes general well-being through the study of human movement.

Pollard received a master of science degree in physical therapy from Pacific University in 1998 and a Ph.D. from University of Massachusetts in exercise science with an emphasis on biomechanics in 2003. She completed her post-doctoral training in musculoskeletal biomechanics at University of Southern California.
