OSU-Cascades Hosts Final Information Session for 2011 Graduate Teaching Programs
OSU-Cascades will host its final Information Session for those interested in the master of arts in teaching (MAT) program's 2011 cohort on Monday, November 15 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in Cascades Hall on College Way. During the session, prospective students will learn about the early childhood and elementary, and middle and high school teaching programs, as well as about the graduate programs' requirements, admissions procedures, the application process and deadlines.
OSU-Cascades' MAT programs are full-time, 14-month programs that follow a cohort model with students taking the same classes at the same time. Both programs include ESOL training and student teaching experience in local public schools. The secondary teaching program offers endorsements in either language arts or social studies; a math and science endorsement is anticipated in 2011. In addition to earning a master of arts in teaching, graduates acquire an Oregon Initial I teaching license. The OSU-Cascades MAT is nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
The application deadline for the 2011 cohort is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Classes begin in June 2011 and prerequisite courses are offered throughout the 2010-11 academic year.
Reservations are not necessary for Information Sessions. To learn more visit http://www.osucascades.edu/master-arts-teaching or call 541-322-3100.
