OSU-Cascades Lecture Focuses on Protecting Central Oregon’s Fish and Wildlife

OSU-Cascades Campus annual and free "It's in the Bag" lecture series showcases the range of research and scholarship underway at the campus by a variety of faculty experts. The public is invited to the fourth lecture of the 2008-2009 series, when Instructor Matt Orr, of the General Science program presents "Digging in for a Sustainable Future: Protecting Our Fish and Wildlife" on Wednesday, January 7.

Orr will give a slide presentation on the community efforts that are underway to restore fish and wildlife habitat in Central Oregon.  Participants will learn about the work that volunteers are doing -- from water sampling, to ditch-digging, to annual species counts -- to safeguard the many charismatic species that compose the natural heritage within Central Oregon.   A question and answer session will follow the lecture.

Matt Orr teaches biology and ecological restoration for the University of Oregon’s General Science program offered at OSU-Cascades.

This lunchtime lecture will take place in Cascades Hall, Room 118, on the OSU-Cascades Campus from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Subsequent lectures are held on the first Wednesday of each month, through the month of May.
All lectures are free and the public is invited to join in and bring a brown bag lunch. No RSVP is necessary.  Complimentary beverages will be available. Audience members are asked to pick-up a free parking pass from the main office before parking.
