Waiver Request Form To waive a program course with a class taken previously at another institution.
CPR Class: A CPR class is required prior to the start of the program (June). Either the infant-child or the child-adult class will suffice. The adult-only class does not meet the requirement. The First Aid class is not mandatory. Please contact your local Red Cross to enroll in a CPR class.
Testing Requirements
Prior to entering the MAT program in June, all students must take and pass the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) OR all three subtests of the PRAXIS PPST. In addition, the Oregon Educator Licensure Assessment Multiple Subjects Examination (ORELA MSE) Subtests I and II, and the ORELA Civil Rights exam are required. Copies of passing scores need to be received by the MAT program prior to June. Total testing/fingerprinting cost is approximately $311. (it will be more if you elect to take the PRAXIS PPST instead of the CBEST).
Fingerprinting
At the orientation in June all students who have been admitted to the program will be fingerprinted for TSPC. This is a licensure requirement for students seeking an Initial I teaching license. You will need to bring two checks with you to orientation, one will be for $10.00 made out to "Perry's Prints", and the other for $62.00 made out to TSPC. The only exception to this would be for students who have been working in the classroom and who can provide a TSPC fingerprint clearance printout at the orientation.
