Testing Requirements (4) For a detailed list of testing requirements click here

Prior to entering the MAT secondary program in June 2012, all students must take and pass;

1. EAS Essential Academic Skills Exam http://www.orela.nesinc.com/TestView.aspx?f=HTML_FRAG/NT001_TestPage.html

The EAS is a national Evaluation Series (NES) exam.  You will need to take Subtest I, II, and III.  The test will take approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes. Results are provided immediately for Subtest I and III and scores are released within two weeks of testing.  Subtest II results are released within four weeks of testing. You must pass all three subtests to pass the test.  The minimum passing score for each subtest is 220.  This is a computer based test. Testing appointments are available year round on a first-come first-served basis. There are a number of test sites in Oregon but none in Bend.   You will need to bring in your original score sheet for the licensure coordinator to photocopy as soon as you receive it.  This is true even if you stated that you wanted scores to be sent to OSU.

$100 For three Essential Academic Skills subtests I, II, III

We will also accept the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) OR all three subtests of the PRAXIS PPST.

2.Oregon Educator Licensure Assessment Multiple Subjects Examination (ORELA MSE) Subtests I and II.

3. NES exam for either Language Arts or Social Studies.

If any exam is not passed by June 2012 you will need to contact carolyn.platt@osucascades.edu.

The following exam will need to be passed before recommendation for licensure.

4. ORELA Civil Rights

After being admitted into the program, you will be fingerprinted, this is a TSPC requirement for all teachers. The total cost of fingerprinting, licensure and exams in Oregon is approximately $683.00 (it is about $90 MORE if you elect to take the Praxis PPST instead of the CBEST).
