Robin Feuerbacher is the program lead for the energy systems engineering degree which was launched in 2010. He teaches industrial engineering and business management courses for the ESE program and engineering orientation for Central Oregon Community College. For 10 years prior to joining OSU-Cascades, Robin taught operations management, quantitative methods, and engineering economics at Oregon State University, Washington State University, and University of Portland as well as algebra at Columbia Gorge Community College.

Prior to teaching, Robin worked for more than 25 years in the private energy industry. The majority of that time was with Siemens Power Corporation, designing and manufacturing fuel to produce electricity in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. At Siemens, Robin was vice president of engineering and manufacturing. He also worked as a manager of operational support engineers and fuel design at the Columbia Generating Station, which provides electricity to southeastern Washington state.

Robin earned a Ph.D. in industrial engineering at Oregon State University in 2010, concentrating in human-systems engineering. His research dissertation was on the effects of distractions in a surgical operating room and was conducted in collaboration with Oregon Health & Science University. Prior degrees include a B.S. in nuclear engineering from Oregon State University, an M.S. in nuclear engineering from the University of Washington, and an MBA from the University of Washington.

Robin was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Engineers at Oregon State University in 1999 and named the Tykeson Endowed Faculty Scholar in 2011.
