Students sometimes encounter difficulties which challenge their coping and undermine success in their academic and personal lives. These difficulties might include academic problems, problems with friends or family, depression, anxiety, procrastination, problems resulting from childhood abuse or sexual assault, low self-esteem, anxiety about dating, eating problems or disorders, alcohol or substance abuse, self or others, or career indecision.
The counseling office here at OSU cascades is able to provide a variety of services to help all students address the challenges and difficulties they face. Services are designed to help increase self-awareness, create and maintain satisfying relationships and improve their academic performance. We provide brief counseling services, or- if more intensive or specialized care is needed- making referrals to health care providers in the community. The counseling office is committed to providing continuity of care and as such works closely with referrals in areas such as medication management, testing, evaluations and information about community programs. Are you a veteran? Let's talk about community services/contacts available to you.
Support Group starting, 10-13-09
Balancing Academic Goals with Life Goals. Join us on Tuesdays @ 6, as we share what works and what doesn't. Social life vs. academic life; how do I prioritize? Are you a parent and a student? Learn how to balance being both. Explore how we sometimes set ourselves up to fail. Is procrastination on your list of things you would like to change? Want to learn how to make changes? This group will run for 6 weeks. Call to enroll, ask questions, or just stop by the office. Look for other future topics to be covered. Have an idea for a group? Let's explore options.
